What are the present valuable and essential courses to ECE students, both in software and hardware?

We are moving towards automation. Technology is changing like never before. For example about each year we get a new edition of Apple phone in market which brings new technology in its every edition.
Particularly if you talk about Industries then Each & every work is simulated on software before converting it in tangible form. Simple why any one will spend a huge capital on those things about which he/she is not sure.
  • So is you are planning to join Industry just after your B.Tech do more focus on software Courses. And infact if I talk particularly in Electronic sector then hardware is something which can not be completed with out software.
  • You have to do programming for electronics components like Arduino, Microcontrollers, Antenna design etc. In simple words hardware & software complement each other.
Trend wise i will recommend you to learn Python first and then directly move on Internet of things. Definitely you will be in high demand if you learn these two things . Industries are open for Python programmers. Let me tell you about the opportunities which you can get after having the solid base in Python.
  • Backend developer job
  • Full stack web developer (Python+ Flask)
  • Text Analytics
these are only few you can get many more.
  • For the preparation of Interviews you can Go on Interview bit, its a best platform to crack software engineering interviews.
Now if you have command on python without any delay learn Django. You will simply double your job opportunities. Its use for web development. Django girls tutorials from here you can learn it.
  • Android : If you are keen about startups. And want to do startups or projects in both electronics as well as coding field. Learn it.
  • its not a simple task to open any startup which particularly belongs to electronics field. You can take the example of VLSI field. Number of companies are quite less in this domain .
  • So it make sense if you start any business particularly in this field(VLSI) because your competitors are less and product demand is high. But generally you will not found any company who start their business in Chip designing. There is only sole reason behind it because it require a huge capital and even a single designing mistake can destroy your entire business. That is why salary of Analog designers used to be high.
So android is the best option to create any app which you can link with your any electronics device which can be ultimately used by any person. Eg: Wearable healthcare devices.
  • IC Designing/VLSI: As i mentioned above that in ECE VLSI is that field which is highly in demand. So if you already have an edge in VLSI over others then you are gonna earn a lot.
  • In most of the Indian universities VLSI is basically taught to the students in their 7th or 8th semester. So if you learn IC designing before final year then you will surely get some advantage.
  • Labview: Although its not in trending but you can learn it because its easy to learn. Totally graphical programming based software. Whatever you do in C or java with commands most of the tasks you can do in this without even write a single line of code. Simply you have to use some graphical tools for the programming of Instructions.
  • MATLAB: Learn it if you want to go particularly in research domain. You can do many things in MATLAB because it offers various tools to perform many tasks. Generally it is used for Image Processing & signal processing operations.
Now in hardware there is nothing simply hardware you must have to learn some basic programming associated with that hardware.
  • CST: It is used for antenna designing. Actually its not so much in trend. But again its quite easy to learn as Labview. So if you learn it then you will have something differ to write in your resume. And personally what my suggestion is that if you can learn anything with less effort then learn it. Who knows it could grab a jackpot for you.
  • AVR: You will found bunch of students in your batch who will do this course. This course have had been in trending. But if you have interest then only go for it. Otherwise choose something else. Ultimately knowledge matters not the course. Its basically use for embedded system programming. Basic knowledge of C will required in it.
there are still many more like VHDL, Pspice, SCADA & many more.
But learn only that course in which your interest lies. So you will be able to do something new.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!!!!!!

Their are lot of job options available for ECE Students. I have divided here job options into different sectors so that ECE Students can analyse that how many sectors they have to work. Networking Sector:  Electronics Engineers can go in Networking sectors Job. Some big companies like Cisco and other provides this Opportunity. They can get some handsome amount of wages too. IT Sector:  Electronics students can go for this sector too. This sectors demands a good knowledge in Programming Languages. After gaining some experience good amount of money can also be earned. Core Electronics Sector:  This is definitely on the first priority ...

My Quora answer on I’m a 3rd year ECE student interested in programming and networking. Should I go in for a network admin or embedded software?

Its quite common Dilemma among the ECE Undergraduates. Infact i know some of my seniors who did their M.Tech in different specialization & doing work in some other field. So, first of all its up to you That in which field you want to make your career. I will suggest you if you have ardent interest in any of the field then choose that field. So you can enjoy your work and make significantly growth in your career. Now here i am providing an comparison between these two on different parameters- Salary-  From salary point of view embedded field (Software Engineer, Developer, Coder ) dominates somewhere over Network administration field (DevOps, Ops, SRE etc). But the difference is not too much. But it is not always certain. Salary also depend upon timing, Location, Personal Skills and much more. you can check these two links to check the salary of these two fields- Salary: Network Administrator Salary: Embedded Software Engineer 2.  Pressure of work: Network a...

What are the simple businesses for startups this year?

There are so many ideas on which work can be carried out & now a days most of the graduates are working on these ideas. But the important thing here is that  in which field your ardent interest falls . You can start working in any field, You could also have a fantastic idea but if your interest does’t fall in that then you will sabotage it quite easily. Never think that your idea is quite common and any one can steal it . No not at all. Let us suppose For a moment why anyone have not produced yet another google/facebook/apple etc despite we have one of the best programmers all across the world. Because of their unique selling property. Its the quality of your product which anyone can not produce. And you can only bring that quality in your product if you do your work with full interest. So Idea could be anything but make sure that you have lot of interest in that. So when you will work on that idea then it will create the history.  Here i will suggest some of t...
